About Us

We are the local committee organising events in the Royal London Borough of Greenwich to raise money in the fight against cancer.

We were formed in 1953 under the name of British Empire Cancer Campaign, which was changed to Cancer Research Campaign in 1970 before joining with the Imperial Cancer Fund in 2002 to become Cancer Research UK, as it is now.

There are now about 8 of us and we meet once a month in the evening on the 3rd Wednesday in the month in someone's home locally. We organise functions to raise money into funding research into the cure for cancer.

We run many varied events from manning a stall at a boot fair, to organising gardening talks, holding local history walks and talks, musical evenings, quizzes - you name it, if we can make money out of doing it we will!

If you would like to come along and see what we do, just contact us and we'll tell you when and where.

If you would like to come along and help at any of our events but without being part of the committee that would also be very welcome, again just contact us to let us know.

Or just come along and support us - what better way to donate than by having fun at one of our events at the same time!
